5 out of 5 stars Adaptor Kit   May 1, 2010

I would recommend this product for anyone, or you can make one yourself. This kit comes with a very accurate knob counter for each frame, and is more convenient than making the home made kit.

Great product, and for the price you might as well get it.

3 out of 5 stars Not usable for sprocket hole photography   March 23, 2010

For sprocket photography, you will either have to modify the framing insert to remove the edges, or not use it at all. In either case, your results will be poor.

The film does not stay flat, resulting in blurry images. Plus, the light going through the holes bounces off the back (which is ribbed with cavities) and exposes the backside of the film, resulting in an orange cast and hole ghosting on the edges of the negatives.

In any case, if you are going to experiement, you can probably do it cheaper without this adapter. Or just shoot cheap out-of-date 120 film from ebay and have more playroom to crop.

3 out of 5 stars Works for what it is.   March 16, 2010

The 35mm film adapter for the Holga does work like you'd expect it to but it's not the easiest thing to deal with. It does come with a nice sticker to put on the top of your film advance wheel and that does work quite nicely actually, got them developed easily at WalMart's drop-off box. But the reason for me getting this was to save money from having to get 120 film developed and that reason is kinda gone. I found out that WalMart will develop 120 quite cheaply through it's drop off box which is a big plus and so it's actually cheaper to develop 120 film than the 35mm, the 35mm cost me a pretty penny to get done and the 120 is actually cheaper from what I hear. But with that said this product does work as advertised but there are two things I didn't like about it. Having to change out the film in a completely dark room was more hassle than I knew, I found only one room capable of this and it's only capable of this at night since light leaks in during the day and so it's not exactly convenient if you get to the end of your roll in the middle of the day. Also one other thing was the scratches across the film, I'm not sure if it was the adapter that caused this or a film processing problem with FujiFilm who did the pickup process from Walmart but it wasn't nice to find on my film.

4 out of 5 stars nice!   October 28, 2009

When you're working on a Holga using 35mm film, you do tend to lose some of the lomographic niceties you get when you are using either instant or 120 medium film. This adapter is good in that it fits over the exposure area, firmly keeping your film in place without being bulky or heavy. The image does not extend to the perforations with this adapter.

Great for taking pictures with Holga using 35 mm film. Holds the film firmly in place.
