Product Description The slim, compact DSC-W55 model sports 7.2-megapixel imager and precision Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lenses. It combines traditional, eye-level viewfinder with large LCD screen for easy framing and viewing of photos. The W55 camera makes a splash with a 2.5-inch LCD screen wrapped in a metal body. This model features 3x optical zoom capability, blur-reduction technology (ISO), and substantial internal memory for shooting without a media card. Its storage capacity can be expanded further with an optional Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo flash media card.

some goods lots of bads April 19, 2009 My husband and I had decided to get this camera because we needed something smaller compared to our old digital that can actually hold a floppy disk. This camera is compact and fits right into your pocket. I like that the dial on the back is very user friendly, when you move it to a new setting the description pops up on the screen. However I do not like the shutter delay, it's awful. It sets off like 3 flashes which blinds whoever you are takeing a picture of and they blink. Which is horrible for babies and kids. The red eye reduction was on and still red eyes were in several pictures. Also I just recently went to a Nickelback concert and this camera let me down horribly. I wasn't that far from the stage but still needed to zoom in all the way and no matter what setting I tried my pictures were blurry and very grainy. Out of about 80 pics probably 6 were good and thats because the performers were standing really still. I cannot tell you how many times I missed my kids perfect smiles because of the delay. I just ordered a canon and I hope that it doesn't let me down.
Good little camera March 20, 2009 This camera dropped out of my pocket as I was doing a keg stand and landed in the ice on to of the keg. It stayed there over night. It still works just fine, which is pretty cool. I also take this on Urban Exploration trips where it gets super dusty and dirty and so far there have been no problems (I've had the cam for two years). There are a few features I would like, but no other point and shoot camera has those features either so you really can't hate on this one for not having them. In short it's a great camera for taking regular everyday pictures of trips, parties, etc.
Macro, concerts, art, video, it does it all! February 26, 2009 This camera is amazing for its size and cost! Mine has finally died after 2 years of heavy use (and I wasn't too gentle either...I took it into mosh pits). Well, the whole camera didn't die, but the screen finally cracked. This camera has always surprised me with the quality of its shots. To see excellent examples of what this camera can do, I have posted the pictures I have taken with it on this site: http://dragonkat.deviantart.com
If you are a beginning amateur photographer, I highly recommend this camera or something like it.
Don't buy the Sony Cybershot 7.2 mega pixels camera! February 13, 2009 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this camera for Christmas 2008 and in less than one year the lens cover stopped opening when I turned on the camera. I had to manually tap the lens cover to make it open, and when I turned off the camera the lens cover will remain open so I had to again tap it to make it close.
Most of the pictures come out blurry and grainy. The photo quality is poor. I would not recommend this camera to anyone. I hardly used it and now I wonder if I used it a lot - how many more problems would I have.
This is an amazing cam! February 9, 2009 This is the best cam that i have own it.. ever!! great picture quality, an excellent battery longlife.. purely, my best Digital Camera investment
