Worth the wait - definitely! May 27, 2002 49 out of 49 found this review helpful
At last, Warners issue the definitive studio collection of the man's best work, much better than the earlier "Best of - Ride Like the Wind". This is a good showcase of the superb writing and singing talents of the man from Austin, Texas. All the big hits are here from his Warner Bros. period including "Sailing,", "Think of Laura", "Ride Like the Wind" and "Arthur's Theme" together with "Is There Something", "Blink of an Eye" and "Open Up My Window" from his RCA/Ariola years (although the last is from the rarest of Cross's studio album "Window" which was originally released on a small label Stateside) Also here are one of the Olympic themes from 1984 "A Chance for Heaven", the theme from the Tom Hanks movie "Nothing in Common" in "Loving Strangers" and the duet with Frances Ruffelle (of Les Miserables fame) "I Will Take You Forever". All-in-all a superb album, superbly remastered, with only one minor gripe - it's a shame that they couldn't find space to fit in the title track of aguably Cross's finest album "Rendevous", but that is available elsewhere. One lasting impression is how well Cross is master of his art and one last request, Warners, please re-issue the other albums Christopher has done in such superb remastering as this.
