5 out of 5 stars sleep disapnia only affects the sea   January 7, 2009
When this product was created no-one knew just how bleak the economic forcast for x-factor products would be, I am not currently aware of how these product sets may be doing on the current market, but judging by the quality of the products I must send my commiserations to the Cowell empire, which by now must be facing financial ruin. I must also offer my help in any rightful suicide attempts Simon will making and wishing him strength on his journey to a better place, free from the embarrassment that his forrays into the musical world must have bought him and his family.

1 out of 5 stars sugar coated propoganda   December 2, 2008

For starters, musically, this is utter tripe. Let's not beat around the bush. Yes their voices are all very pretty and they've all got lovely hair and can each of them clench their fists and furrow their brows with utter conviction and emotion. But how much more carbon copy pop music can people take? It's almost as if they've watched every other cliche pop ballad video and copied it move for move. I can't believe people actually clog up their CD racks with this drivel!
But of course this song has an extra selling point. It's for charity. A charity for our soldiers, off bravely defending Britain's glory. In slow motion.
Now here's the rub. For me at least.
I don't see how our brave boys and girls are defending our shores??
we're not under threat from anyone, our governments just want lots of oil and control of the middle east; countries that the british modernised and sold arms to in the first place!

I am not saying that our soldiers aren't very brave but what exactly are they fighting for? absolutely nothing!
They are killing innocent people for no reason

How about a charity single for all the women and children dead and injured in Iraq at our government's hands? Or at least show some of the consequence of war in this video.

And the longer that soldiers are sold as heros and wars are sold as honourable then the more young men and wmoen will be brainwashed into thinking that joining the army is a good thing to do, and will wind up killing and being killed.

1 out of 5 stars Simon Cowell should be ashamed of himself.   November 24, 2008

Let's get one thing straight right now. Yes, it's for a good cause but i urge anyone who wants to donate to charity to do it the proper way and not by buying awful records. The X Factor finalists have completely murdered Mariah Carey's classic and it's about time Simon Cowell and his moronic reality shows were taken off the air - he's single handedly destroying TV. I love Girls Aloud and Kelly Clarkson and i know they came out of reality shows but it was a complete accident that anything good came out of it as year after year most of the contestants in these things are just sad attention seekers who think they are something, like Leon Jackson who sang "I won the X Factor because i believed in myself" or whatever it was called. Reality TV has created a world where any old sad, self obsessed, talentless idiot can be a star. Truly abysmal.

1 out of 5 stars Really, truly, dismal.   November 8, 2008

I wouldnt usually write reviews but i have to say this is possibly the most revolting piece of "music" i have ever heard, i know its for charity and it is the x factor so i shouldnt have expected much but this really is astonishingly bad. I know music is subjective but anyone who likes this cannot possibly claim to have any degree of taste or appreciation for music. It's a pretty dismal attempt to get money of people who are too selfish to just give it, they need some excuse to 'donate'. The vocals have probably been airbrushed but that really is to be expected considering the lack of talent on the show. The only acceptable excuse to want to listen to this is if youre a small child; one star really is overly generous.

3 out of 5 stars good cause...........but   November 8, 2008
3 out of 10 found this review helpful

Good cause but lets be honest, the songs a bit crap.

In truth, this is nothing more than a poor cover version of a average American MOR dirge by a bunch of wannabes with, at most, limited talent, designed to boost the ego's of Cowell, Walsh et al.

It will probably be residing in the bargain bins within a month and will be forgotten completely after a few months more.

So, buy it - feel good about yourself for contributing to a good cause (and massaging The X-Factor mob's ego's along the way), but I'll stick to buying a poppy thankyou.

I'll excuse people buying it to support the cause, but there really is no excuse for listening to it - or inflicting it on other people.

1* for the song - 5* for the cause = 3* average.
